Failure is Part of the Entrepreneur’s Journey
“Entrepreneurs do not fail, businesses do”. You may have heard this phrase or something similar many times.
As for as I know, it is far from the truth.
Because, if you term someone as a successful entrepreneur, then there should be a failed entrepreneur too.
If there is no failed entrepreneur, then there are no successful ones too. Only a successful and failure business.
First off, we need to accept that failure is just part of the startup journey and the journey of becoming a successful entrepreneur.
We should accept this and learn to live with it. And also take that failure to fuel our energy in our next attempt.
Many times, business doesn’t fail you. You fail the business.
Because when your business failed, there will be some other company in your sector will thrive at the same time.
It is our inability to find the product-market fit, build the right team, or raising funds that failed the business.
Of course there may be some external factors always come into play like covid-19. But things like that are not in our control. What it is in our control is how we react to those external factors. Our reaction to the external challenges will make or break our business.
It is a hard pill to swallow, but this is the fact.
Founders who accept this sooner will come out of their failure to build something they are proud. Entrepreneurs who are in denial of their shortcoming and blame others will have a hard time to find a success.
Stop Blaming and Worrying. Start Learning and Doing.
