Create Daily
We all know the adage, "Rome wasn't built in a day."
And, we all would agree, it takes years to build something monumental.
But often, what we miss to see is, it takes years of consistent efforts to make something significant. And our initial work most of the time will not match the quality of our dreams.
It is where we mostly got stuck. We compare our current ability to our end goal and procrastinate to start.
Whether we are writing content, code, or practicing any other skill, the only way to get better at what we do is by creating daily.
We need to consistently put deliberate efforts to become good at our desired skill.
It may sound simple idea, but it needs patience and perseverance to follow through.
If we want to improve at any skill, apart from practicing it daily, we should deliberately challenge ourselves to push our boundary.
No matter how many hours we spend watching video tutorials or finish online courses to learn a new skill, it common for many of us to feel clueless when we start to build something on our own.
Please remember watching a 5-hour python course will not make you a data scientist.
Completing a digital marketing course online will not teach you everything about building or growing brands.
It's a similar case for every other skill.
You have to practice what you are learning. There is no way around becoming good at any skill.
It is essential to cultivate the habit of creating as early as possible when learning new skills.
I deliberately used the word create. Because while learning a new skill, we often practice by repeating the given examples in the courses and convinced us that we know the subject. We cannot acquire skills like that.
But by creating something new from what you learned will challenge your ability and help you understand the concept well. By creating daily, you will expand your knowledge.
It's not uncommon to feel like an outsider when we are first learning a new skill.
We often have low confidence and doubt about our ability on the new skill.
You are not alone. And you can get over that feeling easily just by creating daily.
The reason you need to create daily is it will become part of who you are very soon.
If you are learning copywriting, write at least 500 words daily.
If you are learning front-end development, write CSS for one landing page every day or login form.
If you are learning SEO, analyze on-page, conduct site audit, or write an outreach email.
Create something related to your skill, but build the habits to do it daily.
Once you make it a habit, you can challenge yourself with advanced concepts related to your skills.
Learn. Create. Experiment. Improve. Repeat.
Undoubtedly, One day we will achieve our dream.
